Like most of you, we were concerned about the environment and the state of our lovely planet. At a point we felt we needed to do something to contribute to a more sustainable world. We both have children and we wanted to be able to look them in the eyes and tell them we actually did something good for our planet, so that even they might have the chance to swim in clean oceans, eat uncontaminated fish and enjoy our amazing nature.
While following the events of the 2015 United Nation Climate Change Conference in Paris, hearing about the harm that plastic bags are causing our environment and in particular to our oceans, the thought of a more sustainable bag started to grow. In 2016 we began looking for an alternative material and found a neglected, high quality textile we could use – discarded hotel bed linen.
So we founded Reused Remade, based on the idea of prolonging the life of an existing, high quality fabric by turning it into durable, washable and sustainable carry bags designed for the conscious consumer. We want our customers to feel comfortable carrying our bags with them at all times, whether it is to bring home food from the supermarket, transporting a nice bottle of wine to a dinner party or gym clothes to gym class.
– We want to show future generations that a simple business idea can make a difference and that it is possible to combine design, function and sustainability.
