What a Digital Product Passport means for your business
Scan a product soon, and it might tell you its whole story — what it's made of, how it performs, what happens to it next. No guessing, no vague claims.
That's a Digital Product Passport (DPP): a digital record attached to a product, accessible with one scan, holding its material, environmental and lifecycle data in one place.
Why this matters now
EU regulation is already heading this way. The framework law (ESPR) has been in force since 2024, and textiles are a confirmed priority category for what comes next. The exact rules are still being finalised, with real enforcement expected around 2028–2029.
That means there's no legal requirement for a product like ours to carry a DPP today. But the direction is clear. Businesses that start building this now get a head start. Businesses that wait will be building it under a deadline.
We didn't wait
We built a working Digital Product Passport for our Shoulder Bag Original, together with Maarten Tak at Rotion.
Scan it, and it shows everything: the material is reused hotel textile, with 5x lower CO2 than equivalent virgin textile. It's built to hold 14kg and tested for 25,000 lifts. It's fully recyclable at end of life. All of it verified by independent EPD data. Nothing is a claim without a number behind it.
This is a demo showing how it works — and it's something we can build for any Reused Remade product, as an optional add-on.
What this means for you
Whichever offer you're choosing from us — Standard White Label, Customised Private Label, or Refinement of Your Own Materials — the same principle applies: the material story and impact data behind your product can be documented and shown, not just asserted.
That means documentation you don't have to chase down, verifiable answers for procurement or reporting, and a head start on requirements that are only getting stricter, regardless of exactly when they land.
